Frequently asked questions

What types of wax do you use?

There are 3 different types of waxes that I use. A vegan hard wax, a hypoallergenic hard wax, and a gentle soft wax that is especially gentle on sensitive skin, and perfect for all hair types.

Can I get a Brazilian wax if I am on my period?

Absolutely! Just know that 1) you may be more sensitive, and 2) please have a clean tampon inserted. If you will be on your period, taking one or two Ibuprofen 30 minutes before may help.

Can I get a Brazilian wax if I am pregnant?

Yes of course. But be aware that just like being on your period, you will be more sensitive during and after the waxing. This is especially the case during the last few weeks of pregnancy. Rest assured that I have performed many Brazilians on pregnant women and I will do my best to make it as comfortable as I can.

Does getting a Brazilian wax hurt?

Like many things, the first time is the worst time. Getting your hair ripped out of the follicles isn't going to be the most comfortable experience, but in the hands of a highly trained and experienced esthetician the process is only minorly painful, and any tenderness fades quickly. I use smaller strips instead of larger ones, and I also use my fingertips to apply pressure on the area that I just waxed. This helps relieve the sting and lessens the pain. You will also be more sensitive 4 days before and 4 days after your period. So if it will be your first time getting waxed, I recommend waiting until a week before your period starts or a week after it stops. If that isn't feasible, then try taking 1 or 2 Ibuprofen 30 minutes before.

What is a Brazilian wax?

Basically it is all the hair removed in the pubic area. The pubic mound, the sides, the labia, and the butt crack. A landing strip or a triangle can be left if desired.
